ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Mara.  Born and raised in the great state of Delaware in the US, I came to Israel in 2008 to volunteer for five months in Tel Aviv. Five months turned into 12 years (funny how life does that), and today I live on a beautiful kibbutz with my husband and two girls, who love to visit the cowshed and pick clementines in the orchard.

Wanting to learn more about this country, I went back to school to become a certified Israeli tour guide, earning my license in 2015.  My goal is to be the guide I would want while exploring a new country - personable, engaging, knowledgeable, fun and enjoyable. I would love to share my passion for my home with you. So if you are a family, company, wedding party, large group, solo traveler or mama with a stroller - and you are looking to smile, laugh and learn - then come explore with me!

You will also find my blog on this site, inspired by the numerous times friends call me for trip recommendations for visiting family or things to do with their kids on the weekend.  In order to spread the love, I compiled posts with  golden gems of trips I have done either alone or with my family, for you to enjoy and get moving.
